Raimondas played for Silute in Lithuania before attending American University in Washington D.C. He was considered a transfer student but did not have to sit out a year. Was having three years of eligibility remaining before attending. Did have a good college career at American U. under head coach Jeff Jones. Raimondas played both inside positions while in college but will be considered as a PF in Europe. Is able to play facing and back to the basket. Is known for his physical style of play and likes to make contact. Is a banger at both ends of the floor and will always rebound aggressively. Possesses an excellent shooting touch for a big man. Was not able to show that while at American because he played strictly inside. Runs the floor very well for a PF. Has good hands and can't be left open because of his outside shot. Able to defend taller opponents because of his strength and quickness. Was forced to leave Cape Holland/Den Helder due to the bankruptcy of the club early January 2.006. Signed in Latvia afterwards with Liva Alus Liepaja. Stats being mentioned for Latvia are including the games in the Baltic League. Was signed by Wevelgem (Belgium D2) at the Court Side Annual Camp in July 2006. |
